Nurse Practitioner, an advanced practice degree for primary care providers who complete master’s-level training and board certification and who practice medicine independently. Related degrees include ANP (Adult Nurse Practitioner), FNP (Family Nurse Practitioner), WHNP (Women's Health Nurse Practitioner), and APNP (Advance Practice Nurse Practitioner).
I'm a very big proponent of preventive health, and I will ask every patient about their preventive screenings at every visit. I take a very thorough approach and ask a lot of questions during visits to make sure I fully understand the problem. I've always had a special interest in working with the LGBTQ+ community as well as patients with anxiety/depression. Our mental health system is not great, and I believe it’s the primary care provider's job to treat people's mental health and try to help them navigate the healthcare system if they need more help than I can provide in a primary care setting.
